One-on-one reading, study method and maths and science support, with branches in six provinces
About
Giving Children Wings Reading Centres offer one-on-one support for children with reading and concentration difficulties. Each child starts with a full evaluation of reading level and problem areas. The reading programme moves from pre-reading skills to reading with comprehension, and includes concentration activities, eye movement exercises, weekly sight words, comprehension activities and brainwave stimulation. Study method training helps children summarise, study and remember their subject work before exams. Some branches also offer maths and science tutoring for selected grades. The programme was developed by occupational therapist Engela van der Heever-Greyling with a team of therapists, and branches operate in Gauteng, Free State, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, North West and Western Cape.
